By accessing or using AI Passage Generator ("the Service") at passage-generator.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

AI Passage Generator is an educational tool that uses artificial intelligence to generate reading passages, comprehension questions, and illustrations aligned to Florida ELA B.E.S.T. standards. The Service is designed to assist educators and parents in creating standards-aligned reading materials for K-12 students.

3. Account Registration

You may sign in using Google or Apple authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful, educational purposes. You must not:

• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or security measures
• Use the Service to generate harmful, hateful, or inappropriate content
• Misrepresent AI-generated content as human-authored work
• Use the Service in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or interfere with the Service's operation

5. AI-Generated Content

All passages, questions, and images are generated by artificial intelligence (OpenAI GPT-4o for passages and questions, Google Gemini for illustrations). While we apply readability validation and content safety filters, AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies or errors.

• Content is provided "as is" for educational use and should be reviewed by an educator before classroom use
• Readability scores are validated to within ±1.5 grade levels of the target, but are estimates
• Generated content should not be the sole basis for student assessment

6. Intellectual Property

You retain the right to use AI-generated passages, questions, and images for educational purposes. The Service's source code, design, and branding remain our intellectual property. Standards data is sourced from the Florida Department of Education.

7. Rate Limits

To ensure fair access, the Service enforces rate limits on generation requests. Current limits include 5 generations per minute and 10 regenerations per minute. These limits may be adjusted at any time without notice.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated content.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
